Dynamic Learning Maps - Alternative Assessment (DLM-AA)
Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM-AA) alternate assessment is provided to students who have been identified with the most significant cognitive disabilities. DLM-AA replaced the previously administered Illinois Alternate Assessment (IAA) and has been delivered in Illinois since the 2014-2015 school year. Only 1% of Valley View students will take the DLM-AA; the majority also participate in Valley View’s Multi-Needs or STLR programs. The DLM-AA provides educators and stakeholders information related to students’ progress towards mastering the academic skills identified within the Essential Elements, specific statements of knowledge and skills that are linked to the grade-level expectations identified in college- and career-readiness standards.
